Mr Alf Basch and his wife Alexander Rose 'Pat'. 1930s, South of France
The Basch brothers: Alfred 'Alf' Basch and E. Basch. These two brothers sought their
fortune in the British Empire during the early 20th century, Alf going to the far east, Malaya and
his brother Emanuel Basch
to Rhodesia. Both did well and as you can see from the photograph by 1911 E.Basch Esq., was a JP
(Justice of the Peace) and then Mayor of Bulawayo (1907-1911) in Southern Rhodesia, he even had a street named after which is still there
map.
