Looking from the East, foreground, left is the Field Aircraft Services Hangar, in the middle right is the Autair(Helicopters) Hangar and then the large Air Trans Africa Hangar with one of their Douglas DC7s and Super Constellation, VP-WAW of Afro Continental Airways on the apron. The middle distance is the Civil Terminal of Salisbury Airport, large apron to the right front, the two hangars on the left edge of the photo belonged to Rhodesian United Air Carriers(RUAC). The threshold of Runway 240 can be seen, it was off the end of this runway that the Rhodesian Air Force Canberra R2510 crashed after breaking up in November 1971 killing Flt Lt.A.G.Roughead and Air Lt.G.N Robertson.
