Fields Aircraft Services, New Hangar. Salisbury Airport. June 1972. On view: Piper Pawnee (Agric Air), Piper Commanche, Piper 140 and Cessna 150.

Field Aircraft Services was part of the UK 'Hunting Group', although forbidden by the UN Sanctions to have any contact with offshoot companies in 'Illegal Rhodesia', the parent company kept up discreet contact with visits being made by top management, a good excuse for a lovely holiday in a great country! This hangar was built in 1971 as it was hoped that the Rhodesian Air Force was going to sub contract much work, a Douglas C47 Dakota could fit inside the hangar, I saw it happen once before I left in 1974, maybe in later years the hoped for worked materialised. Fields was heavily involved each year with the annual C of As for the crop spraying aircraft, Piper Pawnee Cs of Agric Air, other civil aircraft which came in ranged from the humble Piper Cub to Beechcraft Bonanzas or Piper Navajos.
