
There are three of the Douglas DC7s and the Lockheed L-1049G Super Constellation on view outside the hangar. The DC7s were Gabon 'TR-' registered, the Constellation was 'VP-WAW', Rhodesian registered. All the aircraft were used by Jack Malloch's airline for flights into Biafra at night during the Biafran War, late 1960s.
Note the Rhodesian flag on the civil terminal building as this photo is from the balcony overlooking the apron, the runway is '06', no sight of the threshold, at one time this was the longest civil runway in the World. This picture was taken on the 27th January 1972..
