First supplied in 1950s, in 1970s part of Historic Aircraft Collection this North American Harvard 2A is an ex-South African Air Force aircraft supplied in the early 1950s to the Southern Rhodesian Air Force. Many of this type were used during the War to train pilots for the Royal Air Force under the Empire Air Training Scheme in Rhodesia. When this photo was taken it was not airworthy being part of the historic aircraft collection of the Rhodesian Air Force. It was last known to be in the Zimbabwe Military Museum, Gweru (Gwelo).
