About to land on runway '06' at Salisbury Airport on the 27th November 1972

This aircraft is reported to have been shot down on the 2nd October 1979 by Frelimo terrorists during an attack on their base camp at Chimojo, in the 'Monte Cassino' area of Mozambique. Flt.Lt.K.L.Peinke (pilot) and Flt.Lt.J.J.Strydom (nav) were both killed in action. This was an ex-RAF aircraft 'WH672', one of 15 Canberras delivered to Rhodesia in 1959
