Aermacchi Al 60b 'Trojan'.
No. 4 Squadron Rhodesian Air Force.
Coming into land at Salisbury in February 1973

I think that this is 'R3242' although the registrations on some of the RhAF aircraft were in the brown camouflage paint which made it very difficult to make out. At this time some of the 'Trojans' had names painted just forward of the windscreen on either side, for instance 'R3242' (cn 93) was 'Happy' as in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. 'R3294' (cn.98) was 'Sneezy'. When the serial numbers were removed from the fuselage sides, all that was left was a hand painted serial located on the undercarriage leg, facing forward on a small rectangular area just above the nose wheel. My good friend Don Gifford-Garner and I speculated that this method of naming meant that there were at the time a total of 8 'Trojans', looking at the reported numbers at this time it would seem that there were 9 left out of the original 10 delivered in 1967.
