I presume No.3 Squadron. Some confusion surrounds this aircraft but it is reported to have been acquired in 1967 by the Rhodesian Air Force for VIP use, Ian Smith, the Rhodesian Prime Minister was often to use this aircraft, he was an experienced pilot serving with the Royal Air Force in World War 2 in 237 'Rhodesia' Squadron. In March 1972 I worked on this aircraft when it came in at Field Aircraft Services, Salisbury Airport, and was able to make out the old Royal Rhodesian Air Force markings, along with the 'R7310' under the white paint, the original civil registration remained as a small plastic badge stuck on the instrument panel, possibly to be used when flown to South Africa. The stripe down the side was RhAF green on both sides over white gloss. This aircraft suffered a landing accident in 1976 but was sold to a civil operator and repaired.
